Posted on March 22, 2010.
Medical Marijuana HawaiiCan I get medical marijuana for insomnia in Hawaii?

I've never been to the doctor for my insomnia because I did not want to get somewhere close to sleeping pills. When I started smoking weed at night six months ago, my insomnia was cured. I do not want to continue breaking the law and want to know if the medical marijuana law in Hawaii would get it legally.

anyone knows?

A. How to become a medical marijuana patient in the State of Hawaii

Under Hawaii's medical marijuana law registration requirements are as follows:

1. Physicians who issue written certification shall record the names, addresses, patient identification, and other information to identify patients issued written certifications with the department of public safety;
2. Eligible patients must register with the Department of Public Safety. This registration is valid until the expiry of the certificate issued by the doctor. Each eligible patient must identify sufficient information to establish the personal identity of the patient qualification and primary caregiver, if one exists. Eligible patients should report any change of information within five working days.

B. Fees

The department issues to patients receiving a certificate of registration and may charge a reasonable fee not exceeding $ 25.

C. Qualifying medical conditions: "Debilitating Medical Condition"

"Debilitating medical" means:

1. Cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or treatment of these conditions;
2. A chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the following:
1. Cachexia or wasting syndrome;
2. Severe pain;
3. nausea
4. Seizures, including those characteristic of epilepsy, or
5. Severe and persistent muscle spasms, including those characteristic of multiple sclerosis or Crohn's disease, or
