Does anyone know the positive aspects of smoking? I'm doing a report for school and one of the components of the advantages and disadvantages of smoking. I found many disadvantages, but little pros, does anyone have any ideas legit.
Benefits ... it's hard.
For me, the advantage is that it has killed my sense of smell - which helped me because my roommate at the University smoked and I always hated the smell of smoke. Yeah ... seems pretty ridiculous, but it's very true.
The other advantage I had when I smoked, is that I actually used to take breaks away from my desk at headquarters. Now I never leave my office because "I need a cigarette" is no longer an excuse for me. Also - the best office gossip is always in the field of smoking!
* They can have a calming effect. But too many can affect nervous. (But then, if a Snickers bar may, for that matter!)
They are an oral fixation that can help you not to sit and eat junk food all day.
They are a great way to meet new people - assuming that you do not mind smokers. "Hey! Can I get a light?" "Sure" "Thanks!" "You know if smokers do not kill us, having to go outside and stand in this time can!" "Yeah, I know what you mean!"
These are fairly weak as "pros" ... but I would be part of my point of view on why smoking is a bad idea.
1) It's expensive
2) it stinks
3) it destroys the immune system
4) Bills because the doctor of your immune system destroys
5) it destroys your belongings (clothing, furniture, etc.)
lost a deposit on an apartment because of smoke stains on the walls (which is a big reason why I left ... I could just image that shit all set up in my lungs
Good luck with your paper
I do not know at all, unless you consider that it helps prevent weight gain.

Health wise, no. I smoke and it relieves the boredom for me, gives me something to do instead of eating! I just enjoy
cool places to smoke, sometimes give satisfactory self smoking hottness
Well, I do not know of any completely "good" things that would make someone want to start smoking. However, you can watch from a historical perspective.
1. Indigenous peoples often smoked in ceremonies.
2. Smoking has been used to reduce anxiety and stress.
3. Smoking relieves bordeom.
4. Some people do enjoy a good cigerette.
Probably one of the most important things is that it keeps smokers have withdrawal effects.
I'm not sure that it helped, but the top of my head, that's all I could come with. Good luck in your report!
Smoking preserves much of 1000 jobs, including manufacturing of cigarettes, road sweepers Council, health professionals, foresters (not cigarettes, not packs of cigarettes, no need for some amount of wood!) and customs officers (no smoking = less traffic)
