Stop smoking facts ............? I once saw a list of the effects of abandonment .... smoking as a sort of time-line-of-thing. I have problems finding it and would love it if someone could find me a link
Almost all information about stopping smoking is bad. Tobacco in cigarettes is addictive.More than heroin. You never lose the desire to light. When you leave, tapered or using substitutes or replacement will not help. You have to quit and stay left to 100%. Even secondhand smoke you will return to smoking. You have problems of your physical and physiological withdrawal. It can be up to two years before your physical performance improved in running or cycling. I stopped in 1990, and have stayed clean. I tried most of the usual stuff and considered worthless. I stopped "cold turkey" with the crutch of acupuncture. I smoked three packs a day for 35 years and I really enjoyed smoking. Quit, stay away from smoke, and remember even a sniff, and you're back to 3 + packs a day.
There are a ton of information about quiting smoking, I suggest placing your question in the Yahoo search engine and you may be able to find what you are looking for there. I stopped 38 years ago, it was difficult, and I tried several times and finally succeeded. You will be able to withstand the effects you may have. just stay with it, you'll feel better and you will finally be smoke free and begin to heal your lungs and your body. Best Wishes, Get Well Soon.
