Stop Smoking TobaccoHow do I stop smoking friend?

my friend is really stressed all the time and not more than four hours of sleep per night. I try to tell him more sleep, but she wont listen. When she said she smokes, lately she has done more than usual. It is not a heavy smoker or something like that but it bothers me that she smokes tobacco, even at all. How can I stop it without getting angry against me.

People do what they will do. If she is too interested in quitting, then you can offer as much support as you can, and be there for her by her lack of nicotine.

But ...

If she has no interest in quitting, I seriously doubt there is anything in the world that you can say stop. Everything you say to a smoker who is not interested in quitting will simply come off as condescending, and therefore boring. She knows what she is going bad for her and if she has no desire to stop, then she probably had a good reason ... So in this case, you might want to stop harassing her about smoking and just being there for her as a friend in general.

I am a smoker and there is nothing anyone can say to make me quit. However, you can try a different approach. If you harass your friend will probably ignore you or smoke in spite of your wishes. Try to gather information on stress, stress relief, relaxation and things of that nature. Try it yourself and perhaps to recommend making it seem less a way to stop smoking and more than a helpful suggestion in the department of stress. You can also suggest a supplement that you can buy very cheap OTC called Melatonin 3 to 5 mg, it helps a healthy sleep and must be taken at bedtime. Then, if these ideas help, get information on Chantix, Wellbutrin (Zyban), Nicorette etc. I hope your friend has medical coverage contrary, these products can be very expensive. Other things that can help reduce back are chewing sugarless gum, hard candy, and this may sound silly, but when I bleach my teeth, I try to smoke less. Remember, your friend will not stop until it is ready! Smoking is an addiction and you have to get rid of first. Hopefully what I said helps. Just know that begging, nagging, or close to anything that might just push your friend away as I did for some.
